DAY 01-Arrival Delhi

Arrive Delhi and transfer to the hotel. Delhi, the capital of India, is situated in northern India and stands on the west bank of Yamuna River bounded by Uttar Pardesh and on the north, west and south by Haryana. Delhi is spread over an area of 1483 sq. kilometers, 216 meters above sea level and has a population of around 14 million. DAY 03 Sravasti – Lumbini

Morning visit Sahet Mahet Capital of ancient kingdom of Kosala,Jetawana Gardens Buddhist temples etc. Afternoon drive Lumbini, which is (190 kms/05hrs) drive.En-route visit Kapilvastu-In ancient times Kapilavastu was the capital city of the Shakya kingdom. DAY 04 Lumbini – Kushinagar

DAY 05 Kushinagar - Vaishali – Patna

Kushinagar,it is the place where Buddha passed into Mahaparinirvana.After morning breakfast visit Mahaparinirvana Temple & stupas, further proceed to Vaishali. Vaishali-located 60kms from Patna holds special significance for Buddhist devotees. Also Gautama Buddha preached his last sermon before his death in c. 483 BCE, then in 383 BCE the Second Buddhist council was convened here by King Kalasoka, making it an important place in both Jain and Buddhist religions.It contains one of the best-preserved of the Pillars of Ashoka, topped by a single Asiatic lion.Later after sightseeing in Vaishali drive towards Patna.Arrive and check-in at hotel.

DAY 06 Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir – Bodhgaya

In the morning after breakfast drive toward Rajgir. Rajgir was the lifetime of the Buddha and was the capital of the powerful Magadhan kingdom,ruled by the virtuous King Bimbisara.Nalanda was the most renowned university in ancient India.Established in the 5th century B.C. it remained alive center of learning till the 12th century A.D. DAY 08 Bodhgaya – Varanasi

The temple houses a statue of the Buddha.The Temple of Maya Devi : A small temple dedicated to the mother of the Gautam Buddha stands at Sankisa. Maya Devi is regarded as the goddess of fertility by the people. Also to be seen here on the walls are Buddhistsculptures dating back to Mahayana age.The Ruins of Ashokan Elephant Pillar This is yet another attraction of the small village. DAY 5-Sravasti – Lumbini

DAY 6-Lumbini-Kushinagar

After breakfast drive to Kushinagar. On arrival at Kushinagar transfer to hotel. Kushinagar is where the Buddha finally attained Mahaparmirvana. In the morning after breakfast drive to Varanasi via Kaushambi- Kosambi was a very prosperous city by the time of Gautama Buddha, where a large number of wealthy merchants resided. It was an important entrecote of goods and passengers from north-west and south. It figures very prominently in the accounts of the life of Buddha. Already in the Buddha's time there were four establishments of the Order in Kosambī - the Kukkutārāma, the Ghositārāma, thePāvārika-ambavana (these being given by three of the most eminent citizens of Kosambī, named respectively, Kukkuta, Ghosita and Pāvārika), and the Badarikārāma. The Buddha visited Kosambī on several occasions, stopping at one or other of these residences. Arrive Agra and transfer to hotel.Located about 204 km south of Delhi in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Agra is one of the most famous tourist spots of the country. The city, situated on the west bank of river the Yamuna, is known world over as home to a wonder of the world, Taj Mahal.A part of the great northern Indian plains, Agra has a tropical climate. Summers are extremely hot and the maximum temperature can be as high as 45 degree Celsius, while winters are cold and foggy. The monsoon season is marked by heavy rains and high humidity. For most of the time Agra alternated with Delhi as the capital of the Mughal Empire. As such one finds many marvels of the Mughal architecture in and around the city, the most famous of them being the Taj Mahal. Besides the Taj, the Agra Fort (also called the Red Fort) makes an interesting sight. Other major attractions include the tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg, Jama Masjid, Akbar's tomb at Sikandra, Rambagh, the Mughal Garden and Dayal Bagh Temple.Besides the historical monuments, one can also explore Agra's rich heritage of handicrafts in its markets. DAY 14-Sanchi-Bhopal

Visit Sanchi and drive to Bhopal to board express train for Jalgaon.On arrival transfer to hotel.Sanchi, 52 km from Bhopal and 10 km from Vidisha railway station, is a serene hill crowned by a group of stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from 3rd Century BC to the 12th Century AD.Sanchi is little more than a small village at the foot of the hill on which the site is located. The Buddhist sites of Sanchi were included on the World heritage List in 1989.The Buddha is not represented through figures at Sanchi, but through symbols, as was the tradition in the early period of Buddhism. The lotus represents the Buddha's birth, the tree signifies his enlightenment, the wheel represents his first sermon and the stupa represents his nirvana or salvation. DAY 15-Bhopal-Aurangabad

After breakfast drive towards Aurangabad and visit the caves of Ajanta & Ellora.Full Day tour of Ajanta and Ellora Caves.Ajanta Caves are 106 kms from Aurangabad and date back to the 2nd century BC. The 30 rock hewn caves are adorned with Buddhist sculpture and the frescoes portray in epic form the religious and secular life through eight centuries.Ellora Caves (29 kms) encompasses 34 rock cut shrines representing Buddhist, Hindu & Jain art dating from the 4th to 9th century A.D. The Buddhist sites of Sanchi were included on the World heritage List in 1989.The Buddha is not represented through figures at Sanchi, but through symbols, as was the tradition in the early period of Buddhism.
